My wife has had this chambered Nautilus shell for about a year
and I have often thought it would make a wonderful subject for a shoot. It's
spiral pattern has been the subject of many
studies and follows the mathematical principal of "the Golden Mean"
in it's perfect form. By employing a number of techniques in lighting I believe
I was able to highlight it's functional beauty
and create a number of wonderfully abstract photographs. I find the patterns
and almost three dimensional quality to the images quite mesmerizing and hope
you enjoy them.
